Started the day off with a great breakfast and nasty beefcake Westside WOD with the ladies today. I knew I would want my hair up, so I did a quick updo (I’m a little inspired from the updo class I went to yesterday) and it came out cute. Upside down french braid with a messy bun.
Lifting-wise I am still taking it a little light… I find when I stay a bit under my maxes, I get stronger faster and end up getting more PRs. I love powerlifting and am stoked to have a great crew to train with.
During our deadlifts I came over to my desk and Tim noticed something under my desk…. It was a toad! What a cute little CrossFit toad trying get in a lifting sesh!
After work I had Mike Jones (WHO?!) adjust me. Ahhhhhh
I feel normal again. My left SI joint, upper back, and neck get tightened up after a week of WODing! I can finally look 90 degrees in both directions. I feel good (nana nana na)!
Before I went to the grocery store for some food I stopped at my accountant’s office to grab my taxes… I OWE $1,400!!! WHHAT THE EFFFFF!? I sure as hell wasn’t expecting that! There goes my shoes I was wanting. Ugh. Oh well. To the store! I always feel a small chip on my shoulder at the store when I’ve got such a clean cart. It just looks so healthy! I’ll be cooking Tim’s Feast #2. Pictures and recipes to come.

Southwest Turkey Sliders and Avocado Slaw
These would be GREAT in the summer! Fire up the grill to make some tasty turkey burgers and pair it with the crisp, cool, creamy avocado slaw. So delicious and refreshing!
Tex-Mex Hash Breakfast Casserole
I wish I would have quadrupled this recipe instead of doubling it. My stomach is growling just thinking about this hash. If you like mexican food TRY THIS. It was great and easy as leftovers for a quick on the go meal. This could also make a great post workout meal!
The other photo was of some brussels sprouts, leftover bacon and walnuts roasted in the oven. Always tasty.
Enjoy!

Painting the roses red
We’re painting the roses red
Don’t tell the Queen what you have seen
Or say that’s what we said
But we’re painting the roses red
Yes, painting the roses red
Not pink
Not green
Not aquamarine
We’re painting the roses red!
Uh. Sorry. I was thinking of a title for this post and I thought, “I’m kicking the sugar out” and for some reason the tune to the Alice in Wonderland song played in my head.
Last night I thought I’d do Tim a favor and eat the rest of the Easter candy so it’s not around anymore. I’m so nice, aren’t I?!
This has been lingering on too long so THAT’S IT! I’M KICKING THE SUGAR OUT! I normally don’t have problems keeping grains and dairy out, but lately sugar has been kicking my butt.
I am allowing myself a few drinks on Saturday night for one of my best friend’s engagement party, but other than that I am going to keep it clean. I think we might also start a mini 14 day challenge on Monday for a few people, so why not get a head start. You know what that means… more posts about food! Yum.
Tim’s Feast #1

Tim and I made a little trade off… He teaches classes on Monday nights and I cook his weekly food (and get my cooking done, too). We are getting closer to Regionals so I want to help him be prepared on the nutrition side of things. Recipes coming soon!
Oh and my picture editor didn’t have an option for 5 pictures so I just added in Raggie for fun.

Happy Easter! It has been a great day so far… Got plenty of sleep, went to the gym and did lots of push-ups, pull-ups, and handstand practice, made a DE-licious sweet potato dish, spent quality time with the fam, and now spending time with my love.
I forgot to take a picture of my sweet potato dish (have I posted this before?) so here is the link (sorry my link button won’t work): http://paleomg.com/bacon-basil-baked-sweet-potatoes/
My Uncle and my Great Aunt are both allergic to gluten so this was a nice Easter side dish.
I tried a new ‘do today and really liked how it turned out. French braiding requires a bit of muscular endurance and after all the push-ups today it started to burn a little bit (like in the old days at Muscle Corp doing overhead walks for complex plyo training… good times).
Dreaming of Katniss…

I decided to try the Katniss braid. My hair is still pretty short so the end wasn’t very long. I pinned the braid underneath and added a little bow I made myself.
It was easy and quick and can be worn casually (mess it up a little bit) or formally.
Why am I posting at 10:23am on Saturday when I should be at school you ask? Let’s just say getting together with some CrossFitters on a Friday night after a long week lead me to staying home today. Coffee seems to help…

[Pale]OMG these recipes were wonderful and easy. Especially the desserts. Wow.
Here is what I made (previous post)…
Buffalo Chicken Chopped Salad from TheClothesMaketheGirl.com. How could it NOT be good? I don’t think I have ever had a bad dish of Melissa’s. This totally fixes the craving for some bar food. The heat from the chicken mixed with the cool salad was very pleasing! You must try it. It also does very well with leftovers.
Bacon Sweet Potato Poutine from PaleOMG.com tastes like a savory, old world, wintery, hearty meal. YUM. This hit the spot. I swear my insides turned into something warm and fuzzy when I ate this.
Paleo Spaghetti Breakfast Bake also from PaleOMG.com. This recipe made way more food than I expected. I have tons of leftovers which is *perfect* because I have lots of easy pre-made breakfasts now! Great for those days when I get up at 4am and can’t seem to eat until later.
Caramel Pecan Bars again from PaleOMG.com. Excuse my language please…HOLY CRAP these are soooo good. I don’t even have words to describe these… The texture of the topping with the crust, the sweetness with the slightly saltiness, the I’m almost in a coommmmaaaaa feeling. WOW. Just try them.
Sweet Potato Brownies from… you guessed it, PaleOMG.com! Okay here is a small disclaimer: the recipe calls for some (dairy free, grain free) chocolate chips. I cut the amount in half which is a little better. If you are doing strict Whole9 you may want to cut these out.
This is the first baked paleo dessert I have tried that doesn’t require the gargantuan amount of a nut flour (or any for that matter) so I was a little skeptical. Well have I been missing out! these are ultra cake like and fulfilling. Usually I really overeat paleo desserts but this one I didn’t because it is so satisfying. Thanks for introducing me to these Lauryn!
ENJOY!!

So I know it has been a while since I have consistently been on here to share some CrossFit lovin’. I have let life get in the way! I am in the process of deciding what I want to do with this blog. I am tempeted to make it into a blog that is all aspects that I am passionate about:
Cooking
CrossFit
Hair and Cosmetology (in cosmo school if you didn’t know)
My pets
Crafts (I know, I know)
My life….
This could either be a really cool thing… or something strange that only a select few will actually be interested in. Also, sometimes I don’t have time to actually write up a big post but want to share pictures (can I just import my Pinterest stuff here?) but wonder if that is annoying to some people. Hmf.
Guess I will just take it day by day and find out.
A few updates:
My hair is red. Now just to get it 12 inches longer…
I am signed up for Carol Paoli’s Gymnastics Seminar (yay!)
I am signing up for Rob Orlando’s Strongman Cert (yay!)
I am attending an Updo (as in hair) class in a few weeks (yay!) so if you know of any prom-aged ladies send them my way
We have an addition to our family, Bernie, the long haired Chihuahua!
Taking the day off today (school has been making my CF schedule wacky lately. 5am-1pm tomorrow then school 5pm-9:30pm. Gotta rest up!) to clean the house and do some cooking. Maybe I’ll post up what I make later tonight.
Toodles!
